CommuniGate Systems' Jon Doyle to Discuss "SIP-ifying the E-mail Base" at INTERNET TELEPHONY® Conference & EXPO East 2008
Presentation highlights hurdles and opportunities in making the transition to an open standards-based Unified Communications Internet structure
Mill Valley, CA - January 18, 2008 - CommuniGate Systems, the leader in carrier-class Internet Communications solutions, is proud to announce Vice President of Business Development Jon Doyle's presentation "SIP-ifying the E-mail Base" at the upcoming INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO East 2008, January 23-25, 2008 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami, Florida (www.itexpo.com).
In "SIP-ifying the E-mail Base," Doyle will discuss the development of widespread adoption of open standards-based communications using a single identity. As today's VoIP providers continue to build islands of closed networks, breaking these old business models requires open standards and SIP is the standard to do this. An open system brings true mobility and portability, where one address can find and follow users no matter where they are, regardless of the network or access device. Doyle will be presenting this topic Thursday, January 24 at 2:15 p.m. EST.
"It is a privilege to be back at ITEXPO, one of the definitive shows driving the communications industry," said Doyle. "With almost two billion e-mail accounts in use today worldwide, SIP is poised to enable these accounts to receiving a request for an IM session, a direct voice call, even videoconferencing. This session will cover the current barriers and discuss the key technologies and market factors needed to make the transition to open standards-based Internet Communications a reality."
"We are very pleased that Jon will be participating again in this show. CommuniGate Systems is widely recognized and respected as an industry leader, and I am confident that our attendees will appreciate and value the opportunity to hear his perspective on the adoption of SIP to go beyond just e-mail messaging," said TMC president and conference chairman, Rich Tehrani. "As the IP communications landscape gets more sophisticated, it is imperative you come to industry conferences to experience everything there is to learn. There is no more efficient way to get up to speed than attending this event."
Registration for the show is now open. Anyone interested may register by visiting www.itexpo.com. Limited booth space is still available as well. Vendors interested in exhibiting at the show should contact Dave Rodriguez at 1-203-852-6800, ext. 146 or at drodriguez@tmcnet.com
